OUR MISSION

City Life Church is a diverse family of God, united by Jesus, led by scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit to care for the spiritual and tangible needs of the lost and hurting in the underserved community of Mt. Hope and beyond.

OUR VISION

As God’s redeemed, we equip our multicultural community to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

MULTIETHNIC - REFLECTING THE BEAUTY OF SAN DIEGO AND OUR WORLD

MULTYETNIC - REFLETE BOTE SAN DIEGO AK MONN NOU

MULTIÉTNICO - REFLEJANDO LA BELLEZA DE SAN DIEGO Y NUESTRO MUNDO

Everywhere you look there is division, but when Jesus conquered our sin and death he tore down our divisions. We are one in Him and we believe the church should celebrate that now! If every tongue and tribe will be present in heaven, it must mean we hold on to language and ethnic differences. But why wait to celebrate? We can show the world that our unity transcends melanin, language and history. We a rich tapestry, woven together by Christ! Of course unity does not mean assimilation. Our church is learning daily what it means to learn from each other’s experience while staying solid on Biblical doctrine. You shouldn’t have to become like everyone else to worship with us. We are going to get this wrong often, but we won’t stop trying. Can’t stop, won’t stop!

Being a truly multiethnic, multicultural church is hard—It means everyone involved will be uncomfortable at times. It means we all have to be willing to change. It means we won’t do church as usual. It means we will empower leaders from multiple ethnic groups without tokenizing them and forcing them to assimilate to what some would call “normal.” It means fighting for unity when we feel to different to be in community. It means engaging local justice issues that matter to our brothers and sisters. If we do this right it will be a challenge. But it will be RIGHT!

scripture on multiethnic

jOHN 13:35

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Ephesians 2:13-15

But Now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In His flesh, He made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations, so that He might create in Himself one new man from the two, resulting in peace.

Revelation 7:9

After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands.

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY WITH LOVE

FOOD PANTRY

Available every Sunday 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after each service. Our Food Pantry is a church-wide effort to be mindful when grocery shopping to grab that extra set of paper towels, diapers, peanut butter, milk and so on, with the mission that those who arrive needing food for the soul, will also be met with food for the body.

CLOTHING CLOSET

“For I was naked and you clothed me.” City Life Church comes to together to get new and like new clothing from casual to professional to give our community and neighbors a chance to be comfortable. Whether it is to keep warm in a coat, or to provide a blazer for a job interview that could impact the trajectory of their livelihood, we are there to stock that closet in the hopes of helping make that difference.

SAINTS & SNEAKERS

Sometimes, to feel the ultimate comfort, a nice clean pair of socks goes a long way. City Life Church provides socks and shoes (new or like new) to our neighbors who may spend lots of time outdoors, on their feet, or who may not have the budget for a pair. We go further than washing the feet of our neighbors by providing them with comfort in each step aftwards.
